Rainbow of Promise is Elizabeth’s second collection of poems, following the aftermath of speaking out about her experience of familial sexual abuse in her first poetry book. It links past trauma with present difficulties, finding ways to overcome the resulting anxiety, mental health issues and intrusive memories when dealing with her everyday life, that can often feel overwhelming for many survivors. Using determination and passion, Elizabeth draws on the world around her as inspiration for living in the present moment and exploring new opportunities, finding a positive path for her recovery and healing. By empowering herself, Elizabeth empowers others, providing a platform to have a voice and a right to be heard, through creative self-expression. Elizabeth hopes her poetry will resonate with people coping with their own struggles including trauma, abuse, emotional, psychological, and physical health problems, as well as challenges faced through social adversity. Rainbow of Promise has been written to encourage others embarking on their journey, to help give them the strength to find their own value, self-worth and a brighter future.
